Insights From Evan, Former Head of Military Programs at Verizon and Chief Veteran Advocate Good morning,
One of our most precious communities I have had the pleasure of supporting throughout my career has been our U.S military. When our military service members are ready to come home, it is our duty as grateful Americans to step up and serve them when they return. Personally, this is my passion, my career choice and my sincere honor to do. Professionally, I work everyday to help our military community position themselves as they pursue success in their civilian careers. After working the past six years in the corporate trenches, it was time to embark on a new journey to continue expanding my goal to level the playing field for my heroes so they can pursue their hopes and dreams. After all, it is because of veterans that so many of us get the chance to pursue our own.
When it comes to finding the right solutions that will benefit our transitioning service members, veterans and military spouses… I will get behind it, validate, and work hard to help spread the word. In fact, I would like to tell you about a very special platform that allows professional Americans the opportunity to say more than “Thank You For Your Service” in a very personal and meaningful way. I would encourage you to learn more about Veterati and how you too can pay it forward to U.S. service members and military spouses.
However, I cannot acknowledge one without the other; our military families. When I worked in corporate America, I was limited in the resources I had to directly support military children. Well, I can now! I am working closely with a wonderful new and exclusive program called Camp Broadway- This Is a Great Country. It is the first time that military children can audition to be selected to march and perform live during the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade this year. I got a sneak peek at some of the online auditions and all I can say is, Military Kids Got Talent!
To find out more please visit Camp Broadway - This Is A Great Country and see how you can help military families and/or submit an online audition for anyone you know.
Thanks for the opportunity to share my two cents. I hope my knowledge can help at least a few of you make the connections you seek out.
