Military Spouse Power

Good afternoon everyone,
I had the honor to attend the first ever MSEEZ (Military Spouse Economic Empowerment Zone) in San Antonio last week. One of my favorite quotes from the event was "Uncommon grit is a Common trait among military spouses." I feel like this quote should be stamped on every military spouse's resume. More MSEEZs will be rolling out across the nation this year. Lots of great discussions and best practices were shared and I can't wait to see the results in action! We will be bringing you tips we were able to gather from the amazing companies who attended, powered by our great sponsor USAA. To quote Richard Perez, the President and CEO of the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce, "USAA is the model of hiring spouses".
The MSEEZ program grew from the findings of a recent U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation study, Military Spouses in the Workplace, in which an overwhelming majority of employed military spouses said that having dual incomes was vitally important to their family, but only 50 percent of military families polled reported having dual-income status. This is just not acceptable in today's economy!
If you are a military spouse and need help with your job search or an employer in need of some great employees shoot me a note! ann.cardona@hiringamerica.net Also check out a clip about Why Spouses are So Great and advice from Judy Davis on How to Find Your Direction.
See everyone again next Wednesday!
