This Life Is An Opportunity

Good morning friends,
I want to share a quote of inspiration that really struck me this week from our Episode of the Week.
"This life is an opportunity if you choose to see it that way...I would encourage [you] not to look at it as a burden. Just because so much is in the control of someone else does not mean that you don't have control of your life. You can take control, just in different ways, and that's a learning curve. Learning how to do that is part of the challenge but it's also part of the reward because as you move forward you will grow as a person and you will be a different person tomorrow than you are today."
This quote from Judy Davis really resonates with me this week. Judy is referencing the Military Spouse lifestyle but I can connect with it as a Soldier, Spouse AND Transitioning Veteran. I often get frustrated because I feel so much of my life and my future is out of my control. In the military DOD controlled my life. As a spouse sometimes I feel like my husband's career controls my life... but lets be honest... really my 16 month old controls all my waking and sleeping hours. She is the REAL "Household 6". As a transitioning veteran I feel like hiring managers and computer resume screening systems control my life. I need to be better about focusing on what I CAN control and I am sure I am not the only one.
Learning how to take control in different ways than I am used to and growing as a person will be my focus for this Spring. What better time to focus on growth as everything is blooming (and the pollen is choking me out). I promise I will keep more great articles, videos and quotes coming to help each one us figure out how to move forward and grow. As always keep reaching out to me if there is anything in particular I can help connect you with or maybe some advice/encouragement you can give me!
