A Position I've Never Heard of Before!!

What is a "Scrum Master"?
That is the question that I asked as I came across the title during my weekly open jobs search. I thought it was some made-up title some recruiter posted as a stunt to get candidates to click out of curiousity, "click bait". It turns out it is not just a Rugby term. They are legitimate positions that are posted everywhere from large companies like Capital One, Abbott and Allstate down to the smallest startups. When I read the description I thought this position is PERFECT for any veteran who has had any type of leadership role during their time in service. The job description starts with "Servant Leader", enough said. Why have I never heard of this before?
I am doing my research on Scrum Master certification programs for Veterans as we speak and will have more on this coming up. But it made me realize now more than ever that if I have never heard of this position then what else am I missing out on?!? There are a sea of job opportunities out there, I know it is incredibly overwhelming, but keep on open mind throughout your search. There may be a job that you have never heard of that is a great fit for you and you may miss it if you are too narrowly focused. On the flip side there also is no 1 "perfect" job for you either. Each job you take is just a stepping stone on your career journey. It sounds easy enough but it took me 3 years to figure that out. I've never heard of anyone dreaming of being a "Scrum Master" when they get out of the military but I know some of you out there could make a name for yourself Mastering the Scrummiest of Scrums with ease, lol.
Have a great rest of your week and stay tuned for more interesting jobs you've never heard of!
