Spotlight on Hiring America's Partner DAV
Dear Hiring America Family,
We would like to take the time to introduce you to our long-time partner, Disabled American Veterans (DAV), and share more information about the services that they offer. Each year, around 200,000 men and women transition out of the military – and DAV is here to help. Founded in 1920 by veterans of World World I, the nonprofit set out to help veterans take back their lives after returning home. Today, DAV continues the tradition and helps change the lives of more than a million veterans every year through a variety of free programs and services.
A recent survey revealed that nearly 50% of returning service members believed that finding meaningful work was their biggest hurdle in returning to civilian life. To tackle that head-on, DAV has created a myriad of programs and partnerships designed specifically for veterans. DAV has teamed up with RecruitMilitary, a firm dedicated to helping servicemembers transition. More recently, RecruitMilitary has also partnered with Soldier for Life to help ease the transition for soldiers before they leave active duty.
