After attending the job fair, Arnold discovered Corporate Traffic Logistics, a family-owned business that was particularly interested in his military background. Impressed by the company's camaraderie and culture, which resembled his military experience, Arnold applied and quickly secured a logistics solutions engineer position. Alston Cleary retired from the Army as a chief warrant officer 5—the highest warrant officer rank in the branch—after 30 years of service. In 2021, he attended a virtual DAV job fair and submitted his resume to Home Base, an organization that connects vets to orgs. John Deere came calling soon after.

One of the toughest steps in transitioning from military service to civilian life isn’t just finding a job, but finding a new sense of purpose; a new avenue to belong and a new path to apply skills and talent. Since 2014, DAV (Disabled American Veterans) has hosted more than 900 job fairs- virtually and in person- to help veterans forge the next phases of their careers. Those job fairs have led to more than 174,135 job offers.
This month, we’re sharing some of the success stories from those job fairs. From young veterans to those with multi-decade resumes, attending a DAV job fair was a pivotal moment for each.
